Lenny Levison
Lenny Levison started his unorthodox black-and-white artistic style in 1991. In 2006 he decided to start selling his artwork.
He uses archival ink pens to give his work an Indian ink effect. He is a self taught artist who visualizes images of shapes and landscapes in his head on how to start a drawing, and creates the rest by just going with the flow. A lot of emotions go into each piece. Thus every painting is a journey into his mind. The black and white abstract style allows the imagination of the viewer to create whatever they want to see. The themes of the paintings come through more freely when the artist communicates in the simplest form, yet the drawings are very detailed and complex. The message is that of peace and tranquility.
Born in New York, Lenny grew up in Brasil, and has traveled to the Mid East. Learning different cultures has helped him become the artist he is today. Currently back in the New York area, he has returned to where he started. After a full circle, the journey will continue.
